My Vacation in St.Thomas U.S Virgin Islands

Last week was my 21st birthday. As a birthday gift to myself I decided to treat myself to a island getaway. So last weekend I departed for my trip to the beautiful island of St.Thomas!

(This is a braidout I wore the first day of my trip. In this picture I was sitting in JFK airport.)

On my way through security one of the officials who was also sporting a braidout asked me to stretch my hair and lets just say I love how supporting the natural hair community can be most of the time. It was kind of a reminder that my efforts are paying off.

I arrived to my destination very late I did not check in until 11pm that night due to airline delays. The resort I stayed at is called Frenchman's Reef. The hotel overall is very beautiful the only downside was the lack of cultural inspired food. I think there should of been more local cuisine inspired dishes available at the resort restaurants.

Here are some pics from my vacation

My view at breakfast

The pool area

Beautiful view of the water from the pool

Getting my tan on lol

Pre-Pool Hair

The elevator to the beach (super cool right)

Enjoying my favorite place in the world: The Beach

Lobby Flicks(flat twists into a bun)

I had an amazing time at the Frenchman's Reef resort all by my lonesome. The next time I go to St.Thomas I need to stay longer than a weekend!

  2. Did you tour the island or did you just stay at the hotel and visit the beach? Do you have any connections to the island or any island, at that? Why did you choose St. Thomas?

I'm curious because I run a page relating to the Virgin Islands and I am from St. Thomas. Just always curious why people choose our islands and what their experiences were like.

    1. I didn't get to :(. My resort had a private beach. My parents are from the islands so whenever I think vacation a beach must be involved lol. I am just trying to explore the other Caribbean islands.
